For the successful, positive thinking is a habit! One can condition his thoughts to think positively. But, there should be a basis or a grounding – At many times, excessive positive thinking gets translated to negative results because we tend to overlook the impediments. Optimism should be based on the facts.
We differentiate events, results, people, objects that we come across in our life – into the good and the bad. The root cause to this belief is because we live in a state of polarity consciousness! This is a point of view where life is seen as a contrast between the opposing forces. As I mentioned elsewhere in this blog; Good or Bad is a judgemental issue! Yes, at the basic level i.e., physical consciousness, bad things do exist and appear that way because they are designed to.
Life is like a stage; the script is devised and written so that we gain from a multitude of experiences enabling us to understand the duality consciousness or polarity consciousness. Then, what are challenges called? Challenges are unpleasant, impossible, suicidal or the opposites; depending on state of mind of each concerned. Higher level of consciousness is helping us to recognise and accept challenges in our life. Such individuals possessing higher level of consciousness are referred to as challenge-driven, optimist, persistent, motivated, achievement or goal-oriented, focused etc. They can turn the bad into the good! They can identify the opportunity in the problem!!
Transformation is a natural process? No, not for some! In case of those who are negative-minded, defeatist or unproductive – transformation does not happen even after efforts! This is getting complicated; because, I just said, it is a natural occurrence. Well, it is natural when it is not faced with blockages! When a blockage to transformation exists, pain may be the price you pay to dissolve the blockage. The Natural force is designed to precipitate the matter resulting in pain and in order to relieve ourselves from pain, we dissolve the blockage! Like the proverb, ‘necessity is the mother of invention’. The soul is free and wants to remain free and at higher level of consciousness, it facilitates dissolving the blockages in our mind itself, without any action. Consciousness gives us the energy from the singular Reality – to transform! At times, such contributions of Nature in extreme cases are referred to as a miracle!
So what is the function of the Good in the Bad? Personally, I believe that the ‘Good’ is the natural state and there is nothing called Bad. When we are unable to perceive the Good due to various reasons: limitations in perception, lack of faith in our self, diffidence arising out of fear – Good appears to be Bad. It is all in the state of mind and if we can control our mind, we can control our reactions to the surrounding events – resulting in the natural state ‘Good’! This is more like auto-suggestion. Patience is required to transform!
Happiness is essential to win over situations that are unpleasant. The word ‘unpleasant’ is also man-made. One who is able to live in the natural ‘Satchitananda’ state (meaning state of ‘being-consciousness-bliss’), does not find anything unpleasant. He is detached from the event though he is acting on the event, with the same precision and dedication, like a surgeon does at the operation table! No effort is wasted! No one fails!! We can control our own actions but many do not attempt to.
Good and Bad are relative expressions! Again, it is based on the state of mind of each individual concerned. Physical shortcomings are not being discussed here. They are physical afflictions beyond human control. But, herein too, you can decide whether to be happy or not! You can decide whether to meet the challenge or not!
