Valentine’s Day – ‘Silly love Songs’ by Paul McCartney

Next week, Feb 14th is the valentine’s day – Quite often, we realize we are incomplete without many qualities we wish to have within us. Well, no one is really perfect to have it all! Cupid strikes then; when we find a person who can complement and offset the deficit we have within us. Instantly, we feel complete and fall in love! Call it what – Admiration of the other person?

During school days – love is infatuation; in college – it is companionship and much later, love means a lot more – as it is perceived in terms of a long standing relationship that can lead into life partnership. In India, we do not celebrate the Valentine’s day as it is done in the western world. Our ‘relationship’ values being quite different from theirs, we are conservative; though this is changing rapid with time, especially with global influence into our daily lives.

Way back in 1979-80 – during my ‘ending’ high school days in Delhi – Beatles/ Wings were the western songs I often, listened to – ‘Wings’ was formed by Paul McCartney after Beatles broke up in 1970 – This chirpy number ‘Silly love songs’ is from the music album ‘WINGS at the speed of sound’ and is dedicated to my wife – for the valentine’s day !
