Japan – Will there be a nuclear catastrophe?

Can Japan triumph in tragedy? The economic loss caused by the devastation because of a monster earthquake (highest, 8.9 Richter scale?) cum tsunami is really appalling – and it looks quite cynical to expect a triumph amidst this great tragedy in Japan! But, Japan is the only country in the world to do the impossible and it has always done it in the past – whether rising phoenix like out of ashes as an aftermath of atom bombs dropped by the US, in Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the WW II in 1945 or ‘simply’ living/ progressing well – amidst continuous earthquakes as a result of it being located in the seismic zone prone to very frequent earthquakes!! It became an economic miracle despite the odds piled up against it – the Land of rising Son(y) and Japanese automobile genius/ exporter to the world!

Today, Japan is once again a wounded victim of malign forces. Will it once again overturn this disaster into a remarkable victory? Will it avert the nuclear catastrophe – with other countries seriously worried and evacuating their citizens from the ‘nuclear radiation’ disease prone cities in Japan. The economic toll on Japan is close to $184 billion and counting and life insurance companies may really go bankrupt settling all claims of the affected. The tragedy has questioned countries like India and China – Whether it is ‘really’ required to have nuclear plants?? Is it not important to prevent such calamities or can anyone prevent them?

Fukushima Daiichi plants are closed down but the smokes are still ‘billowing’ from them creating ripples of fear in the minds of innocent victims living nearby and far. Again, Nature has proved to be in total ‘complete’ control – call it God or whatever? WHO (World Health Organization) and 63 countries around the world were really ‘prompt’ in giving aid to the affected! But, can we predict the future? Oh! how helpless we are when pitted against ‘Nature’.
