Thank you Mother !

Thank you mother- for all that you have done,
You took great care, of your daughter and five sons.

You loved us all from the very start,
with your warm, kind, and loving heart.

There were times you were weak and tired,
but you never told us ever, and remained all fired.

Papa was busy making ends meet, doing two jobs,
Alone you took care of everything and there were no sobs!

You thought us all how to be strong,
Guiding us to differ the right from wrong.

Mothers are created, as God cannot be everywhere,
Oh ! He sent ‘you’ to us right from ‘nowhere’.

You were such an awesome mother,
The love you showered on us was like no other.

When you were very ill and bed-ridden,
I could not feel your pain, being only adolescent.
But I watched, Papa left nothing not bidden,
Alas ! Still we lost a light that was ever fluorescent.

Mama, this was one last battle you could not fight,
We did not sleep even a minute that fateful night.

Papa cried when you died, despite being made of steel,
And I knew he was deeply wounded, not easy to heal.

Oh! and was I happy that you were relieved
from the clutches of fated illness, hard to be believed.

Mama, I miss you much today..

(My mother was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis during her last 5 years of her otherwise splendid life – During the last one year of her life, she was very ill and bed-ridden. She passed away on Sunday, 25th May 1980, at her young age of 50 years)
