Why India should work as a bee-hive ?

There has been lot of discussion, incorrect references, and undue ridicule about Rahul Gandhi addressing India as a bee-hive, during his speech at the CII Meeting in New Delhi. ‘Collective action’or ‘Energy’ or ‘combined force’ is as important as the individual rights are important in a functioning democracy. It is pretty easy to ridicule or complain about the existing political system in India without doing anything to correct it and when one adopts such an attitude, he or she is being an outsider, not contributing to the growth of the nation. If the social mind-set ‘change’ has to occur, there has to be a public awakening among-st masses – both literate and the illiterate. Worker bees in a bee-hive symbolize dogged hard-work, dedication and commitment ; they just put their heads down and work hard without complaining. China as a country does that and they do not have any option but to do that, being ruled by a communist government. Imagine what will happen if a billion in India ( including RG) just work and work..without complaining.

Although the name might imply it, the queen bee does not directly control the hive. Her sole function is to serve as the reproducer. A well-mated and well-fed queen of quality stock can lay about 2,000 eggs per day during the spring build-up — more than her own body-weight in eggs every day. She is continuously surrounded by the worker bees who meet her every need, giving her food and disposing of her waste…so everyone really works meticulously !! And the queen bee reproduces more and more bees to continue the progeny or adding to the workforce. As to their excellent teamwork, co-ordination, and cohesiveness – nothing can actually beat or equal these bees’ effort.

So, actually – if India starts working like a bee-hive does – there will not be any despicable ‘public’ indifference to the endemic corruption, the biggest hindrance to the effective growth of our nation and individuals. Then, all people will be knowing, self-dependent and courageous without being servile to political heavyweights.

I hope this clarifies why RG wishes that India should work as a bee-hive.
