Boston Marathon becomes a race to death !

‘At least three people were killed and 144 others injured as two powerful bomb explosions rocked the Boston Marathon finish line in a potential terrorist attack Monday afternoon. When the smoke cleared after the blasts in Boston’s Back Bay section, dozens of victims lay in the street, some unconscious, some grievously injured, including some whose limbs had been torn off by the blast, Boston Globe reported. The dead included an 8-year-old boy, the newspaper said citing two law enforcement sources. Boston Children’s Hospital reported that those treated there included a 9-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy, a 12-year-old, and a 2-year-old.

Chaos erupted as near-simultaneous blasts struck about 90 meters apart, the first on Boylston Street near the photo bridge that marks the finish line, CTV News said.’ ( Source: Zee News )

It is the patriot’s day on Monday, 15th April 2013 in Boston city (Massachusetts State). What an irony that the bomb explosions had to occur on the patriot’s day ?. Probably, those who reached the finish line in this world-famous marathon never thought that their death was in store for them on the Mile 26. These runners were literally thrown off their feet ! The reasons and the perpetrators behind this attack are not known as yet. The ‘ground’ situation is getting under control and security is being beefed up across all the vulnerable points in the cities of United States of America.

Terror has returned to America ( USA) – clearly defeating and challenging the ‘omnipresent’ tightened security around the most wealthy nation of the world. Straddled by a poor US economy and the consequent lack of job opportunities within the country, United States of America has to focus now on public surveillance and higher security to protect their citizen’s interest, welfare and mainly their lives.

(The Boston Marathon is an annual marathon hosted by several cities in Greater Boston in eastern Massachusetts. It is always held on Patriots’ Day, the third Monday of April every year. The Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest annual marathon, and ranks as one of the world’s best-known road racing events. It is one of six World Marathon Majors.)
