Rains hit Thane City !

Last Sunday’s sudden and heavy downpour led to water-logging in several locations across the Thane lake city, grounding ‘Thanekars’ who get the weekend off to conduct their weekly shopping, seeing movies and other indulgence. But, the rain has definitely brought down the heat in a large measure. Though the humidity levels are reasonably high, maximum temperature on Monday was around 26 degree celsius. It is getting to be less humid now ; especially today is very pleasant and airy with intermittent showers. No big rain like we had on last Sunday.

During the rains, it is a wonderful experience to be on the jogging track at Upvan lake ! As usual, the muddy roads are a dis-comfort to some and a pleasant experience to others. Upvan lake, that is close to where I live – is a place of meeting – for the ‘good health’ seekers – the old aged, the young walkers and the professional runners. By walking fast or you can call it as jogging, my intention is to increase physical fitness with less stress on my body than what I get from faster running. Speed walking is a form of aerobic exercise, building natural endurance within me. At some point of time, I intend to start to do some serious ‘running’, possibly after the monsoon showers get over. Let’s see, when is that phase going to be ?
