‘Republicans’ : Obamacare meets it’s first casualty !

‘Republicans stood little chance of emerging victorious from the fight. Obamacare will begin enrolling uninsured Americans as scheduled on Tuesday, and if the government shuts down, voters are likely to blame Republicans. A CNN poll released on Monday found that 46 percent of those surveyed would hold Republicans responsible, while 36 would blame Obama. The poll also found that two of three voters say it’s more important to keep the government open than to block Obamacare.’ ( read more : ‘Analysis: For House Republicans, confrontation is safer than compromise’, Reuters Oct 1, 2013)

This looks more like a massive ‘walk Out’ done by the ‘opposing’ MPs in the Indian Parliament ! Republicans should realize that a ‘shutdown’ will not help them at all. They will just get more ‘far away’ from the American voters, as they will be termed as ‘spoilsport’, not willing to fight ! While in India, in such logjams only the parliament breaks down, in the US there is a lot more to lose. Many Govt. Officials will not get paid, if there is a government shutdown. And it being a massive economy, whatever happens in the US, as a fall-out – it affects the economy of other countries too.
