The Prime Minister expressed his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ via a national address on the All Indian Radio (AIR). Addressing the nation on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami (today), he urged people to share their thoughts with him in what may become a more regular conversation on Sundays at 11 a.m. This is Narendra Modi’s first national address on the radio. AIR will repeat the address on Friday evening, the speech being translated in regional languages to be aired on its regional channels.
This is an absolutely good way to reach out to ‘the people of India'( the masses). The very basic idea of using Radio to do this exercise – is novel and appropriate since it will reach the nook and corner of every village irrespective of any limitations. There should be even an occasional dialogue by inviting deserving citizens in to a conversation with the Prime Minister on the radio platform. Besides this, timely and affirmative action should be taken on right practical suggestions made by the people of India. This exercise should be free from all political interests so that this laudable initiative is sustainable.
