Delhi-based Kabir Bansal (Arjun Kapoor) does not want to inherit his father’s multi-crore enterprise in real estate business. Kabir wants to be like his mother because he believes building a home is nothing less importan. One day, he meets a corporate career aspirant, Kia (Kareena Kapoor Khan), and tries desperately to woo her to be his wife. However, it’s a daunting task for one simple reason: Kia is unusually ambitious and doesn’t want her marriage to hinder her career-growth. After marriage, it’s a really ‘Gender role reversal’ for Ki and Ka, opted by each one’s choice. Kabir, a MBA from IIM-Bangalore doesn’t have any ambition to take part in the corporate rat-race while Kia is very much addicted to social limelight and earning big bucks for herself.
Arjun Kapoor proves to be a natural actor once again. Kareena Kapoor is the ‘spot on’ choice for the role given to her. Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya Bachchan make a brief guest presence in the movie to give their authentic opinion on the issue of gender roles and its implications etc.
A serious social issue has been handled well and the movie is entertaining too.
